AshEse is a globally renowned open access publisher with 10 peer –reviewed journals encompassing a wide range of academic fields. To meet the cost of publishing, authors who publish with us are asked to pay a handling fee per article published.
In order to help organizations, funders, foundations, corporations, societies, research and academic institutions, financially support open access publication and broad dissemination of research published by their authors; we introduced two new institutional membership programs.
PREPAID MEMBERSHIP
In the Prepaid Membership Program, members pay in advance for accepted articles authored by one or more of its researchers. Member institutes will deposit an initial amount of at least £2,000 in order to begin their membership and they will receive an automatic discount of 30% for any publication charges that are paid from their account.
Benefits of Prepaid Membership
• Institutions enable their authors to publish in AshEse open access journals without having to pay the Article Handling fee from their personal research budget.
• Authors retain the copyright of their article, provided the original work is cited properly.
• There is no membership fee-all funds are used to cover the cost of open access publications and credit is used until it is fully spent.
• Administrators receive email alerts each time an article is submitted or accepted for publication.
• A member institute receives updates with information about each article that has been paid via their membership.
• An author at a member institution pays only £280, a 30% discount compared to the non-member institution rate of £400.This amount will be deducted from member`s account.
• With respect to the minimum membership deposit, members decide how much they pay in advance depending on their budget.
• Members will be duly informed when the advanced payment is getting low.
• Members of this program can add additional funds to their account at any point in time.
• Members with annual budget constraints will be invoiced at renewal period with additional charge, should they use up all the credit.
ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP
Members pay a flat rate to begin with the Annual Membership Program. The actual cost is based on the number of researchers and postgraduate students at their institution and the publishing pattern with AshEse journals over the years. Annual Membership covers all accepted articles that have one or more authors from the member institute. We will present quotations to interested institutions upon request. Prior to the expiration of the existing membership, AshEse will provide a new quotation.
Benefits of Annual Membership
• Annual Membership allows institutions enable their authors to publish in AshEse open access journals without having to pay the Article Handling fee from their personal research budget.
• Authors retain the copyright of their article, provided the original work is properly cited.
• The institution benefits from a flat rate system which enables the member institute to know their cost for the next 12 months irrespective of the number of articles that may be submitted or accepted for publication.
• Administrators receive email alerts each time an article is submitted or accepted for publication.
• Members receive updates with information about each article that has been paid via their membership.
• Annual Membership periods may be harmonized with the calendar or fiscal year at the member institute.
• Institutes are automatically recognized as a member and can handle their payments independently by either paying online or requesting an invoice.
We initiated cost-effective institutional memberships because we believe high fees are unjustifiable especially with institutions with research budget constraints. By this we enable funders to save and fund more authors.
AshEse is also seeking more support and sponsorships from institutions, foundations and organizations whose interests are in relation with ours. The terms and conditions of sponsorships are negotiated in line with the interest of the sponsor.
